I was in Ohio sitting in an observation blind, photographing the ducks and geese in the pond when in the corner of my eye, I see a Cardinal perched close to the side opening of the blind. I turned my camera towards him and he starts to shake and ruffle his feathers. He then took off. Thinking that I didn’t get anything good I moved back towards the waterfowl. I was happily surprised then when I came across this photo, which was the best capture of the day by far! Catching that sense of movement while keeping his head sharp in focus, I will admit it was a lucky shot.
