A wild colt runs to the call of his mother.
It was my second morning at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had just finished hiking back to my car after spending the night sleeping in the backcountry. As I was driving along the road, I came across a horse grazing on the side of the road. I pulled over to get a better look and to my surprise, it wasn’t just one horse but a whole herd. Among the herd was one little colt that was galloping around, playing and seemingly annoying the rest of his family. He continued to do this until he heard his mother call for him. He came trotting right back to her, smart kid.
